It's all a case of getting the grades he needs, and getting an offer from whichever one he decides on, it's nerve wracking. The Great Hall was a fantastic venue and you're right, the acoustic was fabulous. I enjoyed listening to your daughter, she has a wonderful voice, I'm sure you're very proud of her.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5605977931488846865.post-86023852147385527702012-07-12T16:13:29.587+01:002012-07-12T16:13:29.587+01:00Good luck with choosing a university! We were at ...Good luck with choosing a university! We were at that stage this time last year. We went to Durham's open day on the hottest day of the year - it was exhausting! But now all her offers are in and her decision has been made and our daughter has just heard which hall of residence she's going to be in, and it's all coming up very fast. Leeds wasn't on my daughter's list of choices, tho I did try to persuade her to apply, but I know the university through work and it has a fantastic reputation.

The acoustic must have been wonderful for your daughter's singing in that venue. Those are challenging songs - more difficult than they sound. You must have been so proud.
You can hear my daughter in the 2nd duet in the Bach 'Wachet Auf' in this selection of pieces from her school's orchestra and choir tour to Poland this year. http://www.gwc.org.uk/cms/beyond-the-classroom/clubs-and-societies/chamber-choir/krakow-tour-highlights/?keywords=music (the Bach starts at 5.09)Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11269887100694066103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5605977931488846865.post-55763890274719446652012-06-29T20:11:23.088+01:002012-06-29T20:11:23.088+01:00Thank you for all your lovely comments.

She's auditioning for a part right at this minute, I hope she's doing well.

The Cookie Jar - It's waiting for his results which is the real nail biting bit. I'm so hoping that he does well.

Jan - I love listening to Eleanor sing. If nothing else, it's giving her so much confidence performing in front of an audience.

Annie - It's a fabulous setting, isn't it? We're so lucky in this country that we have some wonderful architecture.

Scarlet - Fingers crossed that KL gets an offer from Manchester. It solves so many problems when they know where they want to study.

Lily - I love musicals, and like you, this is one of my favourite songs. Eleanor sang it lovely.

Diane - Leeds impressed us too. We were the ones rushing from one subject block to the other. How easy it would have been if Daniel had made a decision about what he wants to study.

Gillian - I'm very proud. It must seem years off choosing a university with your children being so young, but it was only a blink of an eye away that Daniel was that age, it creeps up on you.

Ruth - Daniel isn't there yet. Still lots of study to do and exams to pass. Fingers crossed that he can do it.

Gill - We were very impressed with Leeds. Others will have to be extremely good to measure up.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5605977931488846865.post-53257150806880834422012-06-29T18:32:09.277+01:002012-06-29T18:32:09.277+01:00Sounds like a good Uni to start off with - i wonde...Sounds like a good Uni to start off with - i wonder how others will measure up.
Well done to Eleanor on her performances - you must feel so proud!
Have a great weekend Jo!
Gill xxgillyflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02410673843788487544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5605977931488846865.post-4908740444321685732012-06-28T16:22:55.096+01:002012-06-28T16:22:55.096+01:00Well done mom.
