Gloves In A Bottle

When Eleanor started working in a hospital laboratory last year, her hands didn't know what had hit them. She constantly washes her hands throughout the day when she's working and it takes its toll, making them red and inflamed. I know that with all the hand washing we're having to do at the moment because of the coronavirus, many of us have sore hands too, so I thought it was worth mentioning what Eleanor's found useful in her quest to banish the discomfort.

Gloves in a Bottle is a shielding lotion which forms a barrier. It stays in place for up to four hours and doesn't wash off, and it's absorbed into the skin without leaving any greasy residue. Eleanor's tried many different creams and lotions but this is the best she's found.

When her hands are particularly bad, Eleanor wears moisturising gloves in bed at night. She slathers on the hand cream and then wears the gloves on top. She finds this really helps too.

This isn't a sponsored post, all opinions are Eleanor's. I just thought these products were worth mentioning as so many people are suffering with sore hands just now with all the washing that's going on.

  1. My sensitive skin is really sore, I have found some body cream with extra vitamin E, which is helping, I am allergic to latex so I can't even wear gloves. I have looked online, but I can't find ingredients for this product, I need to check as I am also allergic to nuts and can't have any nut oil in products, it does sound good.

    1. If you type Gloves in a Bottle Ingredients into Google, it brings up the list of ingredients. If you add nut onto the end of that it brings up a list of everything it's free of, including nuts. Hope this helps.

  3. It is really tough if you have sore and inflamed hands and you need to wash them all the time. It wouldn't surprise me if she has a sensitivity to something in the hand wash that she is using. I am glad to hear that she has found way to manage it, but having sore hands is really hard work.

  7. You had me, with that post Title!!!!

What a wonderful suggestion! Especially for the wonderful people like her... Who are working in a hospital setting.

I always use hand cream, every time I wash my hands, so it's no different for me now.

Oh mercy!!!!! I remember wayyyyyyyyy back, when we wore little white gloves, when going "into town." -smile- And could wear them to bed, over hand cream, as well!!!!

What a fun memory!!! thank you.

  11. Thank you for the recommendation. Something I do, which is great for sensitive skin, is to use a simple hand scrub of olive oil and sugar. X

  14. Yup. Our hands would bleed each winter from all the NICU hand washing and gloving .I found if I dried my hands on a cloth diaper, they bled less than if I dried them with a paper towel..

  15. The gloves at night do help. I've done before. Making a about the Gloves Shielding Lotion, haven't heard of that one before. But, right you are the washing is hard on the skin. I've also had good luck with Eucerin REpair. Take Care and Stay Safe

  19. Gloves in a Bottle sounds like a good product and one which I
shall mention to elder daughter when we speak on the phone. She works in an infant school. She's still going in to look after
vulnerable children, but can be sent anywhere in her area where she's needed. (The infant school where she usually works has few children and is closed). She teaches the youngest children
and with all the hand washing her hands get very dry and cracked.
